Chapter 2 - The Motorcycle

Ralph’s mother described him as reckless.  Do you agree?  Why or why not?

  1. NO. I don't agree because the mouse wants a friend and the mouse does not want to be mean or greedy.

  3. I am wondering what else Ralph has done in the past to make her say that. I agree with you Emely that he probably wants a friend because he seems lonely (and hungry), but I also think he is being reckless in his attempt to be happy. What would happen if someone came into the room and saw him on the motorcycle?

I also have another question....what happened to Uncle Victor? The author has mentioned him twice now (Pages 15 and 21) and both times, it didn't sound positive. I'm thinking he might have been reckless too.

  4. I think that the person that will see the mouse on the motorcycle will catch him or crush him or take him away from his family.

Mrs. Wilcheck I agree with you because Uncle Victor had to explore the house, but Uncle Victor is reckless because they don't get to think about it.

  5. Yes Ralph is reckless because the did not think to ride the motercycle. he just rod it. it was dangerous because he could get stepped on or killed.

  6. I think you are correct, Emely. That wouldn't be a good situation.

I agree with you, Jyot. I'm curious to see if he is able to make it run.
